The first women only criterium was a great turnout with commissaire Richie Bates on the starting line to see off two grades, after the cloudy wet weather provided the much needed rays of sunlight required for the first come and try event. The large field was split into two grades with Gabrielle Thomas and Kath Deed battling it out in a close final sprint with Gabrielle getting the top spot in race one. thanks goes to the sponsor Bicycle central on Mulgrave ,Annies cup-and-away kept the crowd satisfied and the marvellous vocals of Jonesy lubricated to cover all the action , thanks again to all the volunteers and helpers who made this day a great success .
