Cairns Cycling Club does not organise the below rides and is not affiliated in any way. 

TUESDAY

Brumby’s

Departs from Brumby’s Bakery in Edge Hill. There may be up to two groups, departing at 5.25am and 5.30am. These rides are for experienced bunch riders aware of pack etiquette. The first group must be confident at speeds of 40+ km/hr, with sprints approaching 60kmph.

Donut Ride

The Donut Ride is a group of female and male road cyclists, meeting Tuesday at 5.45am at Poco Café. Routes and distances may change from week to week and will be posted the night before. Road bikes only, riders mut be comfortable in pack rides with an average speed of 30kms/hr and ride are their own risk. No riding if raining. THURSDAY

She Spoke

She Spoke Cairns is an informal group of local ladies who get together and ride. There are different bunches for different skill levels leaving 5.15am each Thursday morning. Check their Facebook group for details.

Northern Beaches Blast

35Km ride around the northern beaches departing 5.15am sharp, corner of Captain Cook Hwy and Arawa Streets. Average speed is 35kmph+. Riders must be experienced bunch riders aware of pack etiquette.

FRIDAY

Edge Hill Bowls Club

Club C grade level bunch ride around 30-32 km/h going south, slightly hilly terrain through the suburbs. Loops back along the highway and Ray Jones Drive. Departing at 5.15am.

Euro

Club B grade level bunch ride around 35 km/h + leaving from Elva’s at Cool Waters Caravan Park just off the Western Aerterial Road.

SATURDAY

Cappo

Departing from Kewarra Beach Roundabout at 5.30am sharp. Via the Captain Cook Bypass into the city for coffee at La Pizza on the Esplanade. Moderate to high speed with a sprint finish from Grove Street lights to Upward Street lights near Cairns State High School. Riders must be experienced bunch riders aware of pack etiquette.

Villa

Departs outside Villa Romana, corner of Cairns Esplanade and Aplin Streets at 630am. Heading North on Captain Cook Highway onto Caravonica – Redlynch – Brinsmead – Earlville – Bayview Heights – back to city via Southern Access Road.
